BIOL 211 General Genetics
This course introduces the fundamental concepts of classical Mendelian genetics and molecular genetics
such as the functions of genetic material, mechanisms of inheritance, as well as genetic mutations and
their physiological effects. The course also provides an overview of the epigenetic modifications of the
genetic material and its relationship to chromatin states. Finally, the course discusses the concept of
population genetics and factors that influence the frequency and variation of alleles within populations.
