PGEG 221 Intro to Geology & Geophysics
An introduction to geology and geophysics,
emphasizing the processes that form and shape Earth, petroleum geology and geophysics,and the geology of the UAE and the Middle East. Course topics include: origin of minerals and rocks; seismology; Earth�s gravity; geomagnetism; geologic time; plate tectonics; structural geology; sedimentary transport and the depositional environments of reservoirs; geo-hazards; hydrology; economic geology. The course includes at least one all-day field trip.
