BIOL 351 Methods in Cell and Molecular Biology

Students explore the theories and methods commonly required for research in cell and molecular biology. Topics cover nucleic acid isolation/manipulation, electrophoresis, microscopy, cell culture and transfection, immunoblotting and immunofluorescent microscopy. Practical skills are developed using a combination of process-oriented guided inquiry learning, laboratory benchwork, and critical analysis of results obtained from procedures.
