EENG 422 Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage

This course presents an overview of the challenges and technological solutions associated with carbon emissions. It also evaluates the scope of carbon capture and storage (CCS) from a sustainable energy transition perspective. The course focuses on modern carbon capture techniques including pre- and post-combustion capture. The course also describes the geological storage of CO₂, associated subsurface trapping mechanisms, utilization of CO₂ for enhanced hydrocarbon recovery, site selection criteria, and monitoring techniques.
