MEEN 387 Machine Element Design

This course focuses on the design and analysis of machine components used in load-bearing and power transmission applications. It covers fundamental failure modes of materials and the design and selection of key machine elements, including shafts, rolling element bearings, bolts, welds, and power transmission systems such as gears. Laboratory sessions introduce Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools for the modeling, design, and analysis of machine elements.
