Career Services Office

The Career Services Office, part of the Student Success Office at Khalifa University, supports students in preparing for successful careers by providing guidance, resources, and opportunities that enhance professional readiness and employability. 

The office works closely with the students, faculty, and industry partners to connect academic learning with practical professional experience. 

Career Experience and Opportunities

Career Services facilitates a range of experiential opportunities that allow students to gain real-world professional exposure while studying. These experiences enable students to apply academic knowledge, develop professional skills, and explore potential career pathways.

Examples include:

  • Summer Internships –  a structured training opportunities with external organizations during the summer period.
  • Experiential Learning Program (SDAS200) – a credit-based experiential learning course where students complete short-term professional training and reflect on their learning.
  • Work Integrated Learning (WIL) – a structured program combining academic learning with industry-based training experiences addressing real work challenges and projects.
  • Co-Op Program – extended professional placements that allow students to gain deeper industry exposure while progressing through their academic studies.
  • Part-Time Employment Opportunities – flexible work opportunities that allow students to gain professional experience alongside their academic studies.

Career Development Activities

Career Services Office organizes a variety of activities and engagement opportunities designed to connect students with employers, explore industries, and strengthen career readiness skills.

Examples include:

  • Career Fairs – large-scale recruitment events connecting students with employers across multiple industries.
  • Talent Hunt Programs – employer-led initiatives designed to identify and recruit high-potential students.
  • Industry Visits – organized visits that expose students to real workplace environments.
  • Employer Information Sessions – presentations by companies introducing career paths, internships, and recruitment opportunities.
  • Career Workshops and Professional Development Sessions – training sessions on career readiness topics such as CV writing, interview preparation, networking, and professional communication.
  • Networking Events – opportunities for students to interact with industry professionals and alumni.
  • Guest Speaker and Industry Insight Sessions – talks by professionals sharing knowledge about emerging sectors and career pathways.

Collaboration with Academic Programs

Career Services collaborates with academic and institutional units to support student development initiatives. Courses such as GENS300 and GENS400 are administered by the Center for Teaching and Learning, while the Career Services Office contributes by delivering career-related workshops and supporting student engagement activities within these courses.

 

Alumni Services Office

The Alumni Office provides Lifelong engagement and support for Khalifa University alumni through professional development opportunities, employment connections, and community outreach initiatives.

The office organizes employer information sessions, on-campus recruitment activities, career fairs, the Athar Mentorship Program, and career readiness workshops to connect alumni and students with industry opportunities and support their professional development.

In addition, The Alumni Office hosts annual reunion events, workshops, and networking activities to reconnect alumni with the KU community, strengthen employer engagement, and lead initiatives that celebrate distinguished KU alumni.

Through these initiatives, the office supports both Khalifa University students and alumni in achieving their career goals, enhancing their employability, and fostering strong industry relationships. All services provided to students are also available to our alumni, ensuring continuous support throughout their career journey.
