HUMA 268 Western Civilization from 1500
This course is an introduction to the developments in human civilization in the Western world from 1500.
In the course, students are encouraged to think historically by studying topics including: the definition and
origin of civilizations; Western Europe in the Fifteenth Century; the Renaissance; the Reformation; European expansion into the New World; urbanization and migration; industrialization and technological innovation; imperialism and conflict; and globalization.
