MDRT 600 Research, Technology and Innovation I

Research, application of technology, and innovation are integral parts of medical education. This introductory course, which comprises of two parts, intends to develop skills in research, technology application, and effectively utilizing the skills to foster innovation. Part I focuses on the foundations of research, including the scientific method, quantitative and qualitative research, evidence-based medicine, and human subjects research. Part II couples initial clinical experiences with research literature to formulate research questions focused on healthcare quality improvement. Students appraise evidence as a basis for addressing a healthcare/clinical query and develop strategies for implementing evidence-based changes
