Master’s Research Milestones

Research milestones for Master’s students are summarized in the table below. The typical timeline is made with reference to regular academic semesters (i.e. Fall and Spring), however students are expected to continue to work on their research during the Summer Term.

4	Thesis Proposal and Presentation	By middle of the 2^nd semester of study	By middle of the 2^nd year of study
5	Submit “Intent to Graduate” form via Banner.	By end of the Summer semester of study; Otherwise, Thesis Progress Report should be submitted.	By end of the 2^nd year of study; Otherwise, annual Thesis Progress Report should be submitted.
6	Thesis Defense and Final Submission^**	Defense to be conducted two weeks prior to the start of the new academic year.
