HUMA 214 Environment and Society
Provides point of entry to global and local environmental issues, highlighting environmental crisis as a
humanitarian crisis that needs to be solved at a collective level. Examines relationships between society
and the environment, human impact on the environment, and challenges in environmental preservation.
Introduces students to basic ideas of environmental studies, with emphasis on human impact on the
environment, ethical issues and policies, and awareness and stewardship.
