BMED 714 Deep Learning Applications in Biomedical Engineering and Health Informatics
This course introduces students to the specific applications of artificial intelligence to solve biomedical and healthcare problems. It includes topics such as disease diagnosis,2D medical image analysis, text classification, and question-answering in the medical context. Also, it covers the intersection of deep learning applications and the medical Internet of Things (IoT) using embedded hardware, sensors, actuators, and software.
The students gain hands-on experience implementing different deep neural network architectures to manage and analyze various types of medical data. They also learn to leverage AI algorithms and ultra-low-power and resource-constrained devices into mIoT systems to enhance patient care and optimize healthcare resource allocation.
