CHEG 300 Introduction to the Petroleum Industry

This course provides a comprehensive overview of the upstream and downstream sectors of the petroleum industry. Topics covered include the formation and trapping of petroleum, geological and geophysical exploration methods, drilling, formation evaluation, reservoir engineering, and production engineering. Refining, gas processing, and the petrochemical industries are also discussed. The economic, Health Safety Environment (HSE), sustainability, and digitalization aspects of the industry are considered throughout the course.
