COSC 439 Computer Science

This course covers the foundations and applications of Large Language Models (LLMs). It includes an in-depth understanding of LLM architecture, focusing on the Transformer model. The curriculum explores pre-training objectives, fine-tuning techniques, and a range of applications such as text generation, retrieval-augmented systems, and multimodal tasks. Also, the course examines evaluation metrics for LLM performance and addresses ethical challenges, including factuality and bias.
