PHYS 475 Physics of Ionizing Radiation

This course introduces the physics of ionizing radiation, covering fundamental concepts and the properties of various types of radiation. Key topics include x-ray generation, nuclear reactions, radioactivity, the production of radioisotopes, radiation-matter interactions, radiation units, radiation dosimetry, and the biological effects of radiation. Radiation applications in medicine, imaging, energy, and engineering are also covered.
