AERO 661 Flight Control Systems

This course covers the application of contemporary control system concepts and methodologies to the design and evaluation of flight control systems (FCS) for aircraft, spacecraft and rockets. Fundamental aspects include classical controller design and modern full-state control and estimation techniques, followed by the application of these to the design of real aerospace FCS. The course covers the various performance requirements and relevant flight upset conditions pertaining to the certification of civil and military aerospace Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) systems.
