AERO 365 Space Dynamics and Control
This course addresses the fundamentals of satellite orbital mechanics and attitude dynamics. Students are introduced to Keplerian motion, orbit transfers in geocentric and interplanetary space, station keeping, satellite attitude sensors, attitude determination, attitude environment, disturbance effects and basic attitude stability and control. Students carry out computational experiments involving extensive use of coding. They do hands-on practice with laboratory hardware related to attitude and trajectory dynamics and employ artificial intelligence techniques to build models of experimental results. The course introduces the use of artificial intelligence to analyze attitude and trajectory motion.
