Career Development

The Career Services Office at Khalifa University is dedicated to preparing undergraduate students for successful transitions into the workforce. Our mission is to guide students in planning their careers, exploring various career options, and ultimately securing employment.

Our Support and Services

Career Advising:

  • Personalized guidance on choosing academic programs, writing effective CVs, excelling in interviews, and understanding job market trends.
  • Career assessments to help students make informed decisions about their career paths.
  • Access to the Career Services job portal for job and internship opportunities.

Internships:

  • Mandatory internships for all undergraduate programs, serving as a graduation requirement.
  • Engineering degree students complete 16 weeks of internship for two credits, while science degree students complete 8 weeks for one credit.
  • Opportunities for outstanding local internships as well as international internships, providing exposure to global industries and best practices.

Career Preparation Courses:

  • Career Preparation Course – GENS 300: Prepares students with essential skills for internships and future careers, including CV writing, interview techniques, job search strategies, and teamwork.
  • Enhancing Employability and Job Readiness Course - GENS 400: Advanced course for seniors, focusing on career development theories, interdisciplinary knowledge, workplace resilience, leadership, and management skills.

Experiential Learning Course:

  • Short-term work placements that provide hands-on experience and practical skills through action-based learning. These placements can extend beyond the student's field of study and explore areas of personal interest.

Career Services Events:

  • Annual and ongoing events such as career fairs, internship fairs, employer engagement sessions, inspirational talks by industry leaders, and career workshops.

Alumni Relations:

  • Lifelong support for KU alumni, offering training, employment opportunities, and outreach programs.
  • Alumni Association (KUAA) provides a platform for networking, social connections, and professional growth.

Our professional staff is committed to supporting KU students and alumni in achieving their career goals, enhancing their employability, and fostering strong industry relationships. All services provided to students are also available to our alumni, ensuring continuous support throughout their career journey.
