CHEG 433 Applied Biotechnology

This course presents the theoretical concepts associated with modern-day industrial biotechnology, including relevant case studies. The course covers topics such as fundamentals of bioprocessing and fermentation, biochemical analysis techniques, examples on the use of biotechnology in food and pharma industry, biomaterials production, microalgae culturing and production of enzymes in the context of modern-day bio-factories. The course emphasizes the connection between the fundamentals of biotechnology with the current state of the art industrial biotechnology.
