CHEM 360 Microbiology and Biocorrosion for Engineers
This course focuses on two primary areas of study; microbiology and biocorrosion. The microbiology unit
is designed to impart an understanding of the biological and chemical interactions of microbes and their
impact on the oil and gas industry. The biocorrosion unit gives the students an in depth understanding of
how microbes, initiate, facilitate and/or accelerate corrosion of various metals both in aqueous and non aqueous environments. This knowledge will enable students to apply new methods and technologies in their engineering fields.
