Dual Degree Graduate Programs

Khalifa University offers select graduate students (Master's and PhD) who have been admitted to the University the opportunity to enroll in dual degree graduate programs offered in partnership with selected international universities. Students who successfully complete all program requirements will be awarded a degree from Khalifa University and a corresponding degree from the partner institution, in accordance with the terms of the applicable dual degree agreement.

Dual degree graduate programs provide students with the opportunity to pursue an integrated course of study and research at Khalifa University and a partner institution. Through academic collaboration and joint supervision, these programs enable students to benefit from the complementary strengths and expertise of both universities.

Students enrolled in dual degree graduate programs may benefit from:

  • access to the academic expertise, research facilities, and specialized resources of both institutions;
  • joint supervision by faculty members from Khalifa University and the partner institution;
  • opportunities to participate in international research collaborations and academic exchange;
  • international academic, professional, and intercultural experience;
  • expanded academic and professional networks across both institutions; and
  • preparation for leadership roles in academia, industry, government, and research organizations in an increasingly global environment.

Admission to a dual degree graduate program is competitive. Applicants must satisfy the eligibility and admission requirements established by both Khalifa University and the partner institution. Selection is based on academic merit and any additional criteria specified in the applicable dual degree agreement.

For PhD dual degree programs, students shall conduct their research under the joint supervision of Khalifa University faculty and faculty members from the partner institution. PhD students are normally required to spend at least the equivalent of one academic year at the partner institution, subject to the requirements of the applicable dual degree program and the terms of the relevant agreement.

Information on available dual degree graduate programs, partner institutions, eligibility requirements, application procedures, and program-specific requirements is available on the Graduate Studies Office webpage.
