CIVE 442 Design of Concrete Structures

This course provides a basic understanding of the analysis and design of reinforced concrete structures. It covers properties of reinforced concrete behaviour, and ultimate strength design of reinforced concrete members, accounting for reinforcement bond and anchorage requirements. Traditional mechanics-of-materials-based approaches for the analysis and design of reinforced concrete members are covered, while the use of artificial neural network models (ANNs) is illustrated for the design of reinforced concrete beams and columns.
