CIVE 443 Environmental Management Systems

This course covers practical and analytical skills of Environmental Management Systems (EMS) as a framework for environmental protection. The course employs engineering, scientific, and policy tools to implement sustainable initiatives and mitigation measures. The course integrates quantitative modeling and data interpretation through environmental impact, life-cycle, and strategic environmental assessments, as well as environmental auditing. The course provides technical, ethical, and communication skills applicable to engineering work through practical EMS projects that use AI-enabled tools to support decision-making in sustainable project and policy design.
