PUBH 602 Epidemiology

This course provides a comprehensive understanding of epidemiological principles and methodologies, emphasizing their application in public health research and practice. Students will learn study designs, disease measurement, surveillance systems, and metrics of disease burden. Key topics include errors, bias and confounding control, causal inference, and interpretation of epidemiologic data. The course emphasizes critical thinking, health equity, and ethical considerations in public health research. Through case studies, interactive discussions, and critical evaluations of epidemiological studies, students will gain the skills to interpret, assess, and apply epidemiological methods to real-world public health challenges to support evidence-based decision-making.
