BIOM 700 Advanced Diagnostic and Therapeutic Methodologies in Precision Medicine
This course deals with the cutting-edge advancements in biomedical research, data science, genomics, and personalized healthcare. Given the interdisciplinary nature of this field, the course will balance theoretical knowledge, technical skills, and practical applications. Specifically, this course provides students with the opportunity to gain a deep understanding of various OMICS Technologies including genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics metabolomics and their applications in precision medicine. A particular emphasis will be placed on genetic variants that impact drug response, and the discovery and validation of biomarkers that guide the implementation or the development of novel personalized therapies. By the end of this course, students will develop the theoretical and analytical skillset required to assess advanced research project in precision medicine.
