PHYS 717 Quantum Mechanics I

This course presents a comprehensive treatment of quantum mechanics within a unified mathematical framework. Emphasis is placed on the formulation of quantum theory through operator methods, state-space representations, and symmetry principles, together with their physical interpretation. The course develops the theoretical tools required for the analysis of both single-particle and interacting quantum systems. Advanced quantum-mechanical formalisms relevant to modern physics are introduced and applied to representative physical systems. The course provides a foundation for further study in related areas of theoretical and modern physics.
