PHYS 724 Electrodynamics

This course provides the fundamental principles of classical electrodynamics with an emphasis on time-dependent electromagnetic fields and wave phenomena. It develops rigorous theoretical understanding of electromagnetic wave propagation in vacuum and material media, including energy transport and radiation mechanisms. The course introduces analytical methods and variational formulations to describe field–matter interactions and relativistic effects. The course equips the students with the analytical tools required to study electromagnetic fields, radiation from moving charges, and related applications in physics and engineering.
