PHYS 320 Electricity and Magnetism I
This course provides a vector-calculus-based introduction to classical electromagnetism in both vacuum and material media. It develops the theory of electrostatics and magnetostatics, covering electric and magnetic fields, potentials, energy, and boundary-value methods. The course further examines how fields interact with matter through polarization, dielectric response, and magnetization, emphasizing the static forms of Maxwell’s equations.
