Undergraduate Catalog

PHYS 331 Quantum Physics I

This course introduces quantum mechanics by examining the limitations of classical physics and applying the Schrödinger equation to basic systems. The operator formalism of quantum mechanics and Dirac notation are also introduced. These techniques are applied to essential quantum-mechanical systems, such as the harmonic oscillator.
